Year of the Horse 2026 | When the Eight Horses Run First

Christmas has just passed and quietly, the rhythm of a new year is already unfolding.

With less than two months to go before the Year of the Horse 2026 arrives, I decided to begin early, engraving the classic “Eight Horses” design onto a sheet of gold mirror acrylic.

The Eight Horses are a powerful symbol often associated with strength, ambition, success and unstoppable momentum.

Galloping forward together, they represent:

• Career growth
• Prosperity and wealth
• Drive, courage and rising energy

As we approach the Year of the Horse, this imagery feels especially meaningful. It’s not just about the zodiac animal of the year, it’s about the spirit of moving forward boldly and confidently.

✨ Engraved on Gold Mirror Acrylic

The piece is engraved onto gold mirror acrylic, a material that reflects light beautifully.

Under different lighting, the mirrored surface shifts and glows, creating a sense of motion within the artwork itself. The flowing reflections enhance the dynamism of the horses — almost as if they are truly running through light.

Gold symbolizes abundance and prosperity. Combined with the Eight Horses, the message becomes clear:

Move forward without hesitation. Succeed swiftly. Begin the year with momentum.

In Chinese culture, there’s a well-known phrase often associated with the horse: “Ma Dao Cheng Gong -马到成功”, success arriving as swiftly as a horse. This piece carries that same blessing into the coming year.

For now, I’ve let the horses “run” first in the studio — a quiet way of welcoming the energy of the Year of the Horse before it officially begins.
